The Hong Kong Jockey Club Community Project Grant "Intergenerational Responsible Citizenship Project" 2023-2026
Theme: "Moving with the times, living in the new normal"
As an extension of our previous projects "The Hong Kong Jockey Club Community Project Grant – Intergenerational Responsible Citizenship Project" in 2014-2017, 2017-2020 and 2020-2023, The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust has approved a three-year (2020-2023) donation of HKD 5.94 million to the Hong Kong Girl Guides Association to continue the running of free-of-charge intergeneration programmes for all sections of our members. Activities for 2024-2025 will be launched soon, stay tuned!
Objectives of the Project :
1. To organize diversified intergenerational activities for participants of different age groups and social background to strengthen their communications so as to enhance understanding and narrow the generation gap;
2. To provide opportunities for Golden Guides to share their life experience and wisdom to the young generations to develop their self-esteem;
3. To benefit participants' personal growth in terms of acquiring knowledge and skills in their own schedule that meets one of the Girl Guide training methods "My Path, My Pace";
4. To arrange applied technology activities to enable Golden Guides to keep pace with the times, enhance their understanding of information technology, and learn how to use smartphones, social platforms and communication apps
5. To provide opportunities of experiential learning for participants to have positive attitude and resilience to adapt to the rapid change in the community;
6. To provide resources for Girl Guides to prepare service projects and support those vulnerable in society. Therefore cultivating them to become responsible citizens;
