Learning Goal

To encourage members to participate in social services. They receive a message that “It is more blessed to give than to receive”.

Instructions​

  1. Ask members to collect unused basic commodities at home, e.g. samples products of shampoo, conditioner from hotels. Re-package and decorate them as gifts.
  2. Ask members to write some words of blessing on the gifts.
  3. Contact social service organizations and organize a visit to elderly centers, ICCMW, hospitals etc. during festival (such as Christmas, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Children’s Day). Give the gifts to people in needed. Let them know the feeling of being loved and cared.

☑ My path, my pace – Members collect useful resources in daily life or buy gifts for the underprivileged community. This shows their concerns to poor people.

☑ Learning by doing – Members are given chances to communicate with people in different ages and classes. They express their concerns to them by sending gifts, home visits etc.

☑ Connecting with others – Members understand that they need to contribute time and be a good listener if they want to improve the relationship between people.

☑ Connecting with my world – Members learn to pay attention to the social problems in the society and care for the underprivileged groups. They help in the process of social construction.
