Recruitment for Asia Pacific Regional Big 6 Summit



The Big 6 Asia Pacific Region will be jointly organizing the Asia Pacific Regional (APR) Big 6 Summit which is scheduled to be held from 15-18 June 2023 in Malaysia, gathering key people from the Big 6 APR Youth Organisations (YMCA, YWCA, WOSM, WAGGGS, IFRC, and The Duke of Edinburgn's International Award Foundation) to explore how its members can be involved in a collaborative project. The main mission of this Summit is to investigate and establish a collaborative, multi-stakeholder project among young people of the Big 6 Youth Organisations, on the subject of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Furthermore, Summit participants will have the option to attend the "Intergenerational Leadership Roundtable" hosted by the Girl Guides Association Malaysia and co-hosted by the Asia Pacific Region, World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) also held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 11 to 14 June 2023 before the Summit. As a prelude event, the Roundtable will be free for Big 6 Summit participants.

Summit participants are requested to arrive on 14 June 2023 and may leave starting in the evening of 18 June 2023.

11-14 June 2023 (Sun - Wed)
Place Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The exact venue to be announced later. 
  • Young people between the age of 18 to 30 that have actively been involved with community projects and work related to the sustainable development goals.
  • Key Leaders of any level either full-time executives (paid Staff) or volunteers responsible or in charge of Youth Programme.
Relationship between two events WAGGGS participants who attended the "Roundtable" will transfer to the "Summit" venue after the "Roundtable" ends after lunch on 14 June. Participants of the "Summit" are encouraged to attend this Roundtable event as a preparatory space for participation 
  • HK$ 2000 (Including flight ticket, event fee, inland transportation, meals, accommodation)

(The Association has subsidised 50% of the flight ticket and event fee. )

  • Twin/Triple sharing: Free
  • Single Room: USD 150/person
Working Language The working language of the summit will be English. Selected participants should be able to understand and take an active part in discussions in English. The medium of instructions and inputs will also be in English.
