HKGGA Special Announcement on Activity Arrangements - as at 4 December 2019

In response to the current social situation and safety concerns for our Girl Guide members, the Association will implement the following activity arrangements with immediate effect:

 

1. Unit Meetings / Guiding Activities

   1.1 Headquarters unit meetings and activities

  • Unit meetings / activities before 1pm will continue as scheduled under safe conditions. Guiders/Leaders can use their discretion in deciding the arrangement based on the conditions in their regions.
  • For unit meetings / activities from afternoon till night, Guiders and Commissioners may discuss with their immediate Assistant Chief Commissioners in advance whether the meeting or activities would continue based on the safe conditions of the event venue and the districts of the participants’ residence.

   1.2 Unit meetings and activities organized by schools or other sponsoring authorities

  • All unit meetings and activities should be conducted under safe conditions, following the guidelines of the school or sponsoring authority.

 

2. Activities organized by Headquarters, Division, District, Regional and District Associations (RA/DAs)

  • Activities before 1pm will continue as scheduled under safe conditions. Commissioners or Person-in-charge of RA/DAs can use their discretion in deciding the arrangement based on the conditions in their regions.
  • For activities from afternoon till night, Commissioners-in-charge or responsible person of RA/DAs may discuss with respective Assistant Chief Commissioners/Deputy Chief Commissioners in advance whether the activities would continue based on the safe conditions of the event venue and the districts of the participants' residence.

 

3. Adult Members' Meetings and Training

   3.1 Meetings and training before 1pm

  • Will continue as scheduled under safe conditions.

   3.2 Meetings and training for full day or held from afternoon till night

  • Commissioners-in-charge may discuss with their immediate Assistant Chief Commissioners/Deputy Chief Commissioners in advance whether the activities would continue based on the safe conditions of the event venue and the districts of the participants’ residence. Video conferencing or other appropriate multimedia means are highly recommended to replace face-to-face meeting.

 

The above arrangement will be effective immediately until further notice. Announcement for any updates will be posted on the Association's website and Facebook page in due course.
