The “Grantham Uniformed Youth Groups Outstanding Service Award” 2024-2025

Grantham Scholarships Fund

 

Aim

The Service Award is established in 2012 to recognize the contributions made by the outstanding members of Hong Kong Uniform Groups on the community services.

 

Selection Criteria

1. Is an existing member of Girl Guide or Ranger Guide
2. Is an active member at least 3 years in her respective section (Counting from join in day)
3. Has participated in HK-wide activity
4. Is a resident in HK who are pursuing local education
5. Possess good character and demonstrate a high level of leadership and strong commitment to the organization
6. Is all-rounded member who are both active in participating in regular training activities and devoted to taking part in community services
7. Has provided a minimum of 50 hours of community service in the past 12 months (Calculations starting from January 2024)
8. Has not been awarded the “Grantham Uniformed Youth Groups Outstanding Service Award”previously
9. Has to attend an interview conducted by the selection panel of the respective uniformed youth groups
10. Has to submit an essay of 500 or more words (on a topic relating to either the training activity or the community service which they have participated in)
11. The Committee reserves the rights to withdraw the approved award in case the recipient of the Award is found to have committed an offence under the Law of the People's Republic of China on Safeguarding National Security in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, all applicable laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region or violated any rules and regulations imposed from time to time by the relevant authorities applicable to the Award.
12. The Grantham Scholarships Fund Committee reserves the right to disqualify the applicant on the grounds that the applicant has engaged, is engaging, or is reasonably believed to have engaged or be engaging in acts or activities that are likely to cause or constitute the occurrence of offences endangering national security or otherwise the exclusion of the eligibility of the applicant is necessary in the interest of national security, or is necessary to protect the public interest of Hong Kong, public morals, public order or public safety.

 

(Update) Selection Procedures

The selection interview will be conducted on the 01 December 2024 (Sunday) by Selection Panel.

Each uniformed Group may nominate 2 members for the award.

 

Scholarship Amount

HK$8,000 will be awarded

 

Announcement of the Results

Will be announced tentatively in Early 2025.
