To promote the "Girls for Green Energy (G4GE)", we are recruiting a group of guiders interested in introducing this project to their own units or other Girl Guides. By participating in a series of online training sessions, they will unleash their potential to bring innovation and vitality to activities.

 

About Girls for Green Energy (G4GE)

"Girls for Green Energy (G4GE)" is a pilot project on renewable energy through gamified learning, using Microsoft’s Minecraft as tools, that WAGGGS is working in partnership with Siemens Energy. In addition to the Hong Kong Girl Guides Association, WAGGGS is also work with Member Organisations in Singapore and Taiwan to deliver this project.

 

This Minecraft Education Edition game, Planet Rescuers, was developed by a dedicated education team in Siemens Energy. The project provides opportunity for young people to learn about renewable energy, climate change and the environment through a series of competitive challenges. To complement gamified learning with WAGGGS non-formal education method, WAGGGS has developed an offline activity and reflection tool that leaders can use with Girl Guides after each game session. To enhance the learning experience and value, participants will be task to plan and deliver a “Take Action” project at the end of the programme and share their learning.

 

G4GE targets girls aged 8-18. Through this interactive game-based learning experience and the offline activity pack, we hope to empower Girl Guides to become STEM changemakers!
