Which elements of the method are used, and how?

☑ Learning in small groups – Members collect materials at home for recycling, such as worn clothes, rope etc. They can enrich the resources and share them together.

☑ My path, my pace – Members can make use of different materials and methods in a creative way.

☑ Learning by doing – Members learn to reuse and recycle the resources to make things in an inexpensive way. It is also environmentally friendly.

How does the method give youth members a chance to take the lead?

Members learn to find out the value of the unused items and convert them into useful resources. A leader should also be observant and has lots of ideas.

How can you connect this activity to the values of Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting?

Members discuss the ways of reuse and recycle the waste. They learn to reduce waste and fight against pollutions. The activity develops members’ creativity. They increase their self-confidence and self-value.
