Instructions |
Ask members to write a prayer to show your gratefulness to God
Read out the prayers.
Prayer Examples: "Thanks for loving us, the Lord! We are here to praise you. Please help us to practice your command to love each other”
“Dear God, thank you for another day. Please watch over my family and friends. Thank you! Amen.”
“Lord. Give me strength in my weakness, give me faith in my fear, give me power in my powerlessness. I am trusting you.”
“Lord, grant me tenacious winsome courage as I go through this day. When I am tempted to give up, help me to keep going. Grant me a cheerful spirit when things don't go my way. And give me courage to do whatever needs to be done. In Jesus' name, Amen."
“Dear Lord, help me remember what a difference it makes when I make time with You a priority in my morning. Awaken me in body and spirit each day with a desire to meet with You and to hear You speak words of affirmation, assurance and wisdom over my heart as I prepare to go into my day.”
“God, please enlighten my mind with truth; inflame my heart with love; inspire my will with courage; enrich my life with service. Pardon what I have been; sanctify what I am; and order what I shall be.” |
Which elements of the method are used, and how? |
☑ My path, my pace – Members do not necessarily believe in God or be a Christian. If they do not have any religious background, they can still express their gratefulness to surrounding people or things that make them happy and feel enjoyable. The activity gives a chance to members to share.
☑ Learning by doing – Members learn to recall and reflect on their own lives regularly and develop into a hobby. |
How does the method give youth members a chance to take the lead? |
Members write a prayer. They are encouraged to express their gratefulness to their faith/ God actively and sincerely, as well as their feelings in the activities. |
How can you connect this activity to the values of Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting? |
Members understand the purposes of every gathering session – they need to review on their performance and study. They also need to be responsible to their God/ faith. |
