“Footprints in Yau Tsim Mong” City Orienteering

Objective: “Footprints in Yau Tsim Mong” City Orienteering is a diversified and groundbreaking community event. Integrating innovative technologies with city orientation, participants can increase their own social awareness by exploring the Yau Tsim Mong community and understanding its beauty of culture and history.

 

Content: Participants are required form a team to take part in the city orientation. Teams are expected to plan their own routes within a limited time, explore in Yau Tsim Mong District to locate checkpoint and complete designated tasks to get points. Check in to complete the city orienteering.
 

Date: 12 February 2023 (Sunday)
Time: 1 PM to 5 PM (Each orienteering session runs for 2 hours)
Location: Yau Tsim Mong District, Kowloon
Starting Point and Opening Ceremony: Hong Kong Girl Guides Association 8 Gascoigne Road, Kowloon
Target:

General public and guiding members of any age (Particularly citizen who reside, study or work at the Yau Tsim Mong District)

Application Fee: HK$150 per teams (including e-certificate and participants pack)
Grouping: Requirement Member per team Quota
Experiential Group

No limits on age
*For teams with any members aged under 12, there must be at least one aged 18 or above.

Challenge Group (Youth) Aged between 12 and 23 2 to 4 persons 100 persons
Challenge Group (Open)

No age limits
*For teams with any members aged under 12, there must be at least one aged 18 or above.
*If there is any single member aged between 12 and 23, then the team will be classified as Challenge Team(Open)

# Participants age below 18 must get consent from parent or guardian to join the event. (Age will be referenced based on 12 February 2023)

Rules: The basis of the city orienteering is to win points. Participating teams must arrive at each control point asap within the time limit, and then report back to the finish line. Each control point has a different score. In addition, each team also has individual scoring methods: the Challenge Group (Youth) and Challenge Group (Open) will have awards for winning the most points in the shortest time. The Experiential Group can enjoy the competition by visiting designated control points.

Applicants shall apply as a team and must complete application and payment through the Girl Guides Management System (GGMS).
If you have not signed up for a GGMS account, please register at https://ggms.hkgga.org.hk/GGMS/.
Non-guiding members can sign up as OCRS member.

Remarks:
  1. Participants must agree to abide by and accept the Terms and Conditions.
  2. Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. All applications are subject to successful receipt of forms and fees. If required information is not complete, the application will not be accepted.
  3. The registration result will be displayed in GGMS, and you will receive an email notification later.
  4. If there is a typhoon signal No. 3 or above, an amber, red or black rainstorm warning, or the Education Bureau announces the suspension of classes two hours before the start of the activity on the day, the activity will be postponed or cancelled.   5. The Association reserves the right of final decision on all events, including changes to the terms and conditions of this event, awards and other arrangements without prior notice.
  6. Any temporary changes or cancellations of relevant activities will be subject to the announcement on the conference website. The General Assembly reserves the right to amend and interpret the above rules.
